Purpose and Need
The purpose of this project is to replace the aging W Faris Road (S-149) bridge over Brushy Creek which was built in 1969. The project is part of SCDOT’s Strategic 10 year Plan to greatly reduce the number of closed and load restricted bridges in the State of South Carolina.
Project Description
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) proposes to replace the W Faris Road (S-149) bridge over Brushy Creek in Greenville County, South Carolina. It is anticipated that the new bridge will be constructed on or near existing alignment. Following the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), SCDOT will be analyzing alternatives to determine if the new bridge will be constructed off alignment or through the use of a closure and detour.
